The Hockey Goalie Mask, or Goaltender Mask, is a Mask worn by Ice Hockey, Inline, or Field Hockey Goaltenders to Protect their Head from Injury. The First Fiberglass Mask was Created in 1959, and Today these Goal Masks have Evolved into more of a Full Helmet/Cage Combo because it’s Safer for the Goalie. For when you have a Hockey Puck coming at your Face at 105 mph, you want all the Protection you can get. :)
